JULIUS “JAY” WILLIAMS
RALEIGH - Julius “Jay” Van Williams, 77, died Sunday morning, Feb. 3, 2008. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Strickland Funeral Home chapel, Wendell. Burial followed in Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.

He was born in Franklin County, son of the late Sonnie and Annie Etheridge Williams. He was a retired salesman and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margot H. Williams.

Surviving: his wife of seven years, Frances B. Williams; stepchildren, Bonnie Tarleton of Knightdale, Sandy Barbour of Clayton, Rhonda Hawkins of Cary, George Barbour of Wilmington, and Lisa Jackson of Clayton; brothers, Jackie Williams and Jodie Williams, both of Zebulon; eight step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild.
