Man arrested for transporting drugs with daughter in car
FRANKLINTON — Officers trained to sniff out trouble on the highways arrested a Raleigh man, Hakeem Fludd, 29, allegedly for transporting drugs with his daughter in the car.
Franklin County Sheriff’s Dep. Joel Anderson and Franklinton Police Officer A.J. Bishop seized about 14 grams of heroin, charging him with trafficking heroin, possession with intent to sale and deliver heroine, deliver heroine, maintaining a vehicle for the sell of a controlled substance, misdemeanor child abuse, and simple possession of marijuana.

Commissioners move March 19 meeting to courthouse annex
While there are still plenty of questions regarding the most recent revaluation process, county commissioners have taken one variable out of the equation — location.
After an overflow crowd of angry property owners forced commissioners to move its last meeting on revaluation, the board has decided to start its March 19 meeting in the courtroom at the Hamilton Hobgood Courthouse Annex on Main Street in Louisburg.

School Board addresses personnel issues
The Franklin County Board of Education handled a variety of personnel items Monday night, including the appointment of Michael Sheldon as an assistant principal at Louisburg High School.
In other action, the board accepted the retirement resignations of certified personnel Mary Allen and Meloni Bethea at Louisburg Elementary and Sandra Hooker at Youngsville Elementary.

I’ve always thought that youth sports was an incredible thing.
It teaches children discipline, sportsmanship and camaraderie.
It teaches about sacrifice and teamwork and gives them an appreciation for physical activity — which is no small feat in a country where the obesity rate is climbing at an alarming rate.
