Morehead City, NC -- We are sad to announce that our mother, Anne Isley, passed away peacefully the morning of August 2, 2023 at 94 years of age. She was born June 29, 1929 in Norfolk Virginia, growing up in Kelford, NC and attending Woman's College in Greensboro, NC.

PECOS, TX--Marine Sergeant Everett Jacob McGhee, 25, of Pecos TX passed away at home on Sunday, July 23, 2023. Jacob was a warm, funny young man with a huge heart and a sharp wit. Born in Whiteville, NC, Jacob lived in Clarkton, NC and Fayetteville, NC prior to moving to Pecos, TX during his sophomore year at Pine Forest High.

Martin "Marty" George Brown sweetly took the Lord's hand, surrounded by his family, on July 29, 2023, embracing eternal peace after battling Alzheimer's.

Marty was born on September 7, 1955 in Angola, Indiana, to George Marion Brown and Unice Lee Walker. He studied at North Carolina State University. Towards the end of his studies, he met his beloved wife, Tamara, leading to a blessed marriage. Together, they raised a loving family with three sons in North Carolina.

Franklinton, NC--Funeral services for Rev. Hosie T. Starr, age 67, who died on Monday, August 7, 2023, will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, August 13, from the Jones Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Louisburg. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

Louisburg, NC--Funeral services for Sadie W. Jones, age 78, who died on Friday, August 4, 2023, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, August 12, from the Perry's Missionary Baptist Church in Louisburg with Pastor Randolph Alston officiating. Burial will follow in the Perry's Missionary Church Cemetery.
