Male Choir anniversary
The Haywood Baptist Church Male Choir will observe its anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 3 p.m. Guests include: Cedar Rock Baptist Church Male Choir, Perry's Baptist Church Male Choir, The Gospel QC's and others.
Haywood Baptist Church is located at 149 Rocky Ford Road in Louisburg.

Free community meal
There will be an Open Table free community meal at Louisburg United Methodist Church, Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. Join LUMC for a free hot meal and dinner around the table. There will be a Bible Story, live music, and children's activities. This is dinner church, LUMC's Open Table, a new way of worship rooted in a very old way of worshipping, gathering people at a table to eat and worship together. Jesus did it and so did the first Christians. Everyone was welcome then and now.
LUMC is located at the corner of Noble Street and Main Street, use the Noble Street entrance of LUMC.

Church yard sale
Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 2227 Hwy 39 N, Louisburg, will have a yard sale, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 23 (8 a.m.-5 p.m), Oct. 24 (8 a.m.-5 p.m), and Oct. 25 (8 a.m.-noon). The event is all outside.

Free Community Trunk Or Treat
The second annual Community Trunk or Treat will be held 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 26, at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church, 3047 Bobbitt Road, Kittrell.
Children 15 and younger are invited to walk the Trunk or Treat trail and collect candy along the way. Youngsters may wear their Halloween costumes when attending. There is no fee to participate in the event, presented by Journey, Plank Chapel's youth outreach ministry. Games with novelty prizes will also be offered as well as a crafts table.
Anyone wishing to participate on the Trunk of Treat trail with a vehicle may reserve a space by contacting Ron Gustafson at (203) 641-2889. Vehicle participants must also provide candy to distribute.
