July 28, 1950 - October 9, 2025

Henderson, NC -- Rose Miller Cleveland, 75, of Henderson, NC, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Duke University Hospital.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Sims Miller and Bernice Rebecca Ellington Miller.

She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church in Louisburg.

A visitation was held Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, at Sossamon Funeral Home of Henderson.

Survivors include her husband of forty years, Michael Joseph Cleveland; one son, Edward Patrick Hayes (Jennifer); one daughter, Wendy Hayes Bunn (Frankie); four grandchildren, Isaac Hayes Allen (Kaitlin), Jayden Edward Allen, Elizabeth Valdez-House and Ruby Valdez-House; one brother, Clifton W. Journigan; one sister, Carolyn Rebecca Miller; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Ethel Martel, Evelyn Crocker, Ellen Blankenship, Dorothy Allison and Hazel Faulkner; and three brothers, Bill Miller Jr, Isaac Miller and Bobby Journigan.
