t’s fruit sale time for Louisburg High School and Terrell Lane Middle School Band programs
The band program at Louisburg High School and Terrell Lane Middle School began its annual Fruit Sale on Oct. 4.  The fruit sale will continue through Oct. 26.  This is the chief fundraiser for the band programs at both schools, and proceeds from the sale will be applied to the purchase of new equipment, repair of existing equipment, music purchase, and operating expenses of the band program.

Civil case dismissed against shopping center developer
The civil case against the developer of a Youngsville shopping outlet was dismissed last month, clearing the way for realtors to market and promote the property.
Earlier this year, GE Business Financial Services filed a lawsuit alleging that Youngsville Crossing’s developer, Gemini Real Estate Advisors, defaulted on a $17.8 million loan.

Bunn’s governing board approved the creation and hire of a new supervisor who will help enforce the law.
One commissioner, though, thought the move violated town regulations.
During Monday night’s meeting, Police Chief Kent Winstead recommended that the town create the new overnight supervisor position, giving the department some leadership during late-night hours.

Palziv North America, which bought the old HON building on N.C. 56 just outside of Louisburg, was expecting to be in production last month, however, a holdup with an equipment order has the company looking at a December manufacturing start.

The chair of Triangle North Executive Airport’s governing committee wants the board to better plan for its future.
At the board’s Tuesday meeting, Airport Committee Chair John Allers will ask the board to schedule a workshop to set out its aviation Transportation Improvement Plan, as well as figure out a way to get the plan before state and federal leaders to secure funding.

Wreck sends family to hospital
The state Highway Patrol charged a Franklinton woman with driving left of center in a head-on collision that sent a Timberlake family to the hospital.
According to Trooper C.I. Hundley, Krista Bell was driving a Dodge van east on Tarboro Road just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday when she attempted to make a left turn onto Cedar Creek Road.
