Franklin County sheriff’s deputies are working to help the victim of an apparent repeat offender.
Moulton Road resident Haywood Benton reported on Sept. 22 that someone stole several items out of his yard.
According to the report by Dep. J. Maloney, Benton said it was the third time in five days that someone had pilfered items from his yard.

BHS’ Brianna Gatson, who is better known for her volleyball exploits for the Ladycats, is also an accomplished tennis player.
But because of her volleyball commitment, Gatson hasn’t suited up for the Ladycats on the tennis court this fall -- even though her father is the head coach.

LOUISBURG -- The Louisburg Riptide Fall Softball Team has received some helping hands from a talented group of players.
As in members of the Louisburg College fast-pitch squad.

FRANKLINTON -- Franklinton’s Lions earned their first Pee Wee victory of the season last Saturday, topping South Granville by a 19-18 margin in an East Wake Football League showdown.
Brandon Reese rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns -- and one extra point -- to spark the Lions. Deaunte Carroll also had a touchdown.

County lifts boil water advisory after one day
Franklin County public utilities staff lifted a boil water advisory on Tuesday, a day after the warning sent residents into a tizzy.
The warning was lifted at 11 a.m. after all follow-up samples tested negative for the presence of any forms of coliform bacteria.
Public Utilities Director Bryce Mendenhall said he believes the initial positive tests were the result of human error, but the advisory was out of abundance of caution.

Louisburg donates $2,500 to Whistlers
After a brief discussion, the Louisburg town council voted unanimously to donate $2,500 to the Whistlers Convention that is planned for next spring.
To be precise, the money was earmarked for the Franklin County Historical Society which has agreed to sponsor the whistlers’ event after the Franklin County Arts Council decided not to sponsor it.

YOUNGSVILLE — Intricately modeled radio controlled planes and helicopters weren’t the only things that soared this past weekend. Fun and funds did, too.
The Raleigh-Durham Radio Club (RDRC) flooded their Bethlehem Church Road field with flyers, vendors and plenty of onlookers, raising $27,500 for an organization that helps ill children have just as much fun as the hobbyists did.
