HOLLY J. ALLEN
June 2, 1975 – July 4, 2011
LOUISBURG – Holly Jenee Allen, 36, of Louisburg, died Monday morning.

Holly was preceded in death by her father, Dr. George E. Allen of Virginia; step-grandfather, George Champion, Jr. of Louisburg; uncle, “Buddy” O’Neal of Louisburg; and her aunt, Kathy O’Neal Thompson of Tennessee.

Holly was an Army veteran who loved the military and her country. She was discharged after a leg injury and was disabled after several surgeries at the VA Hospital in Durham. She was smart, determined, motivated, caring, kind, beautiful, vibrant, lively, bubbly, and loved her dogs. Holly was a member of Bunn Baptist Church in Bunn, N.C. where she sang in the choir, and recently had been attending Louisburg Baptist Church. Holly was an organ donor and someone has life today because of her loving heart.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Louisburg Baptist Church, 302 N. Main St., with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Holly is survived by her mother, Betsy O. Allen; sister, Kelley Allen; her very special and much loved niece, Lyric Rose Allen, all of Louisburg; half sisters, Laura Overhultz and Kathy Rode; half brothers, Tracy Allen, Mark Allen and David Allen; uncles, Bill O’Neal (Mary Helen) and Wayne Champion of Louisburg, Weldon Allen of Texas; also her aunt, Bert Malear of Texas; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins in Louisburg, Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlantic Beach, Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church (missions programs), P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, N.C. 27549.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.
