"CHARLIE" CHARLES E. RAYNOR

WAKE FOREST, NC - Charles Elliott Raynor, 96, of Wake Forest, formerly of Raleigh, died Thursday evening, September 21, 2023.

Born August 21, 1927, Charlie was a son of the late George Marion and Hattie Belle Shearin Griffin Raynor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Vernell Gupton Raynor; brother, George Marion Raynor Jr., half-brothers, Floyd Griffin, Thurman Griffin, Donald Griffin, Robert Griffin, Paul Griffin, Wilbur Raynor and Russell Raynor and half-sister, Leona Raynor Dickens.

Charlie is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Stuart and Barbara Raynor; nephews and a niece.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Centerville Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Centerville Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 5827 NC Hwy. 561., Louisburg, NC 27549 or to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Building Fund, 8304 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613.
