CATCH OF THE DAY
CATCH OF THE DAY
Huge smiles were the obvious catch of the day Saturday at the Take a Kid Fishin’ event that raised money for the Franklin County Community Foundation.
Pictured (Above): FUN WITH A SISTER. Catching fish at the Take a Kid Fishing Day Saturday at the Harris Farm on Mort Harris Road was a lot of fun — but so is giving your little sister “rabbit ears” when she’s getting her photo taken. At least, that’s what Rylie Howes, 9, seems to be trying to prove with her younger sister, Sienna, 7. They are the daughters of Guy and Amy Howes and are shown here with part of their catch and with angler (and county finance director) Chuck Murray. He was one of several volunteers helping with the event that provides a fun day outside for local children and also raises funds for local non-profit organizations.

GOOD MORNING: Although today’s issue of the Times marks the first day of September, there appears to be no let-up in the summer-like temperatures we’ve been experiencing.
Daytime highs are expected to remain in the low to mid 90’s through Friday before dropping back into the mid to upper 80’s on Saturday and chances for precipitation are very low, although we can always hope for a stray thunderstorm.
