LOUISBURG -- Fall is upon us, which means high school football fields are lighting up the sky every Friday night.
Through four games, the Louisburg Warriors might consider saving money on the power bill by turning off the lights because their football team is shining very bright.
This is not home town bias, either, as the Warriors are currently ranked No. 4 in the state in the NCHSAA Football RPI Standings in the 3A Classification.

Mobile food pantry to visit Perry School site Tuesday (relevance: 75%, date: Oct 1, 2025)
Sowing Seeds NC will bring its mobile food pantry to the former Perry School in Centerville on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The distribution will run from 1 to 3 p.m. or as long as supplies last.
Organizers said that everyone is welcome to come receive free food and support for their families. The first 100 families to visit will also receive a free shopping bag.

County is seeking 'permanent' animal services director (relevance: 25%, date: Oct 1, 2025)
LOUISBURG -- Franklin County management is actively looking for a permanent animal services director.
The person who has filled that post on an interim basis for more than a year said he's interested in the job.
Franklin County posted the position on its Human Resources website on Sept. 23, with a closing date of Oct. 7.
