CASTALIA - Mavis Lee Carpenter Reams, 89, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Louisburg Nursing Center. Graveside services were held Sunday, June 12, at the Carpenter family cemetery, with the Rev. Bethea Moore officiating.
She was born in Wake County, daughter of the late Martha Blalock Carpenter and Doc Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Reams.
Surviving: sons, Euston (Dorothy) Ray of Arizona, Roger (Danny) Ray of Castalia; sisters, Jeanette Bullock of Climax, Lanie C. Johnson of Durham; half brother, Claybon Carpenter of Durham; half sisters, Marie, Doris and Linda; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
