PEYTON M. DRIVER
February 14, 1935 - February 13, 2023

BUNN, NC -- Peyton Maddison Driver, 87, of Bunn, died Monday morning, February 13, 2023, with his family by his side.

Peyton was a son of the late John Morton and Fannie Moye Driver. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Faye L. Driver; son, Peyton "Petie" Driver, Jr.; daughter, Linda Driver; granddaughter, Jamie D. Smith; sister, Dorothy D. Lancaster and brother, Jerry Driver.

Peyton served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army and provided for his family as a dedicated truck driver for over thirty five years. Peyton went on to work an additional fifteen years at Springmore Manor of Raleigh, NC, where he was known for always lending a helping hand with a smile. He was loved by many and left a lasting impression on the hearts of anyone who knew him. Peyton was strong in his faith and an active member of the Church, where he was every Sunday morning in his best dress. He was happiest when he was with his family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, usually sharing stories of the 'good ole days' or telling his best jokes. Even on his worst days during his battle with Alzheimer's, Peyton always had the biggest smile, especially with his great-grandchildren around.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in Bunn Memorial Gardens.

Peyton is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Kathy D. Webb of Louisburg; Joanie D. Smith of Bunn; JoAnn Best of Bunn; Betty D. and Charles Moon of Bunn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Qusel and JoAnn Driver of Zebulon; John and Sheila Driver of Hickory, NC; seven beloved grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
