James Uhl Jr.
August 26, 1938 - March 3, 2023
James "Jim" Uhl Jr.

Louisburg, NC -- James "Jim" Uhl Jr., 84, of Louisburg, NC passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023.

He was born on August 26, 1938 in Ulster County, NY to the late James "Toddy" Uhl and Marie Colao Uhl.

Jim, a charismatic man of many passions and talents will be greatly missed by his close family, that he loved with all his heart. He shared fifty-nine years of marriage with his beloved wife Margaret Uhl, who was by his side until the end. He spoke with his three sons, Jimmy, Steve and Roy Uhl, who were the joy of his life every day. He spent many hours teaching them and passing on their family history, while always staying involved in their everyday current lives.

Throughout his life he had a passion for classic cars and antiques. He made so many friends from all his related travels, involvement and with a smile, and escapades. He made such an impact on so many people throughout his lifetime. The stories he could tell could light up a room and bring a smile or a chuckle to all who listened. As he grew older, he channeled his energy into building wooden boats and stagecoaches. His replicas of the Titanic were amazing and drew awe from anyone who saw them. He had so much talent.

Jim never knew a stranger and bragged about his family and his hometown. People loved his stories and shared in his joy; he will forever be remembered by all.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Uhl; three sons, Jimmy and wife Tracy Uhl, Steven Uhl and wife Angela, and Roy Uhl and wife Roberta; one brother Anthony Uhl; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC. Family will receive visitors and friends immediately following the service.
