Mae Florence Finch
May 9, 1937 - July 29, 2025

Mae Florence Finch, age 88, was born in Franklin County, NC on May 9, 1937 and passed away peacefully in Wake County, NC on July 29, 2025.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Finch; parents, John Ferguson and Florence Woodlief Ferguson; sons, Kenneth J. Finch and Gregory S. Finch; sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Cooke, Bonnie Wood, Jackie Allen, Peggy Brantley; brothers, Charlie Ferguson, Bervin Ferguson, Sam "Sambo" Ferguson, and John Ferguson.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Hannah (Barbara) Finch and their son, Grayson and James Finch and his son Samuel .

Mae was her happiest in her flower garden she created over her lifetime. To say gardening was a past time would be insufficient. Some of her favorite species of flowers were Iris and Verbena, but her roses always stole the show.

Mae thrived when preparing their vegetable garden annually, allowing family and friends to enjoy her home cooked meals fresh from their garden. There was nothing like the love and care she and James put into it. She enjoyed baking as well. The honey bun cake and banana pudding dishes were a few of her specialties and Hannah and Jamie always looked forward to them. Puzzles were always a fun activity Hannah and she enjoyed.

She graduated from high school in Franklin County and began her lifelong career in the banking industry as a teller for Central Carolina Bank where she retired.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Hillside Nursing & Rehabilitation and Transitions Lifecare for their amazing attention and grace they showed Mae.

There will be a Memorial Service held in her honor on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, NC. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Wake Forest Cemetery.
