NELLIE S. FREEMAN
March 26, 1932 - March 18, 2024

LOUISBURG, NC -- Nellie Stone Freeman, 91, of Louisburg, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Nellie was a daughter of the late Charlie Fisher Stone and Sally Hayes Stone and was a native of Franklin County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Wyatt M. Freeman; sisters, Fannie Jane Stone, Rachel Taylor, Alma Gaskill, Martha Vaughan, Gertie Ayscue and Sadie Burnette, and brothers, Ransom Stone and Jack Stone.

Nellie was a member of Louisburg Baptist Church and retired from Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation.

Nellie is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia F. and Steve Bigsby of Archdale, Mary Wyatt F. Allen and Frances A. Freeman, both of Louisburg; grandson, Wyatt Allen and his wife, Li Qi Peh of Singapore; brothers, Dr. Raymond Stone and wife, Rachel of Louisburg; Dr. Paul Stone of Fuquay-Varina; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Louisburg Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 5 - 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church, Neighbors Fund or the Ramp Ministry, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.
