BARBARA L. PERDUE
January 5, 1939 - November 13, 2024

LOUISBURG , NC--Barbara Leonard Perdue, 85, of Louisburg passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Barbara was a daughter of the late Enoch Leo and Lela Alice Wood Leonard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Perdue; sisters, Agnes Lancaster, Eleanor Tyson and Marjorie Duke; brother, Q.S. Leonard.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Donna Wood and husband Vincent of Louisburg, Pam Woodall and husband Howard of Raleigh, and Lisa Evans and husband Sam of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Judy Perdue and Joyce Perdue; brothers-in-law, Thomas Perdue and Robert Cassell; grandchildren, Casey (Brian) White, Kelly (Brian) Beauchamp, Kirstin Woodall (Nikko Fernandez), Wesley (Danielle) Wood, Josh McLamb, Cole McLamb; great-grandchildren, Tony Beauchamp, Jenifer Beauchamp, Lelah White, Grant White, Lou Wood and Robin Wood.

Barbara was a loving and devoted wife, mother, "Ganny" and friend. Her favorite joy was when all her family was spending time together and she was preparing one of her incredible meals. She was at her best and happiest when she was doing for others. She loved her circles of friends, staying active and spending time working in her yard.

A talented seamstress, she dressed many local women and her family. She was a manager at Winn-Dixie for more than 30 years and later retired from Strickland Funeral Home. She enjoyed retirement by helping others with visits, rides and meals; attending Wednesday Bible Study; and being able to sleep as late as she wanted everyday. She touched many lives in the community.

Funeral service was held Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church. The family received friends immediately following the service. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 4272 Hwy. 401 N., Louisburg, NC 27549 or the charity of your choice.
