Franklin County sheriff’s deputies are looking for suspects who stole firearms from a home.
Herbert Leonard reported on Jan. 22 that someone broke into his 3036 N.C. 58 home in Centerville and stole guns from his bedroom closet.

Free tutoring available at Louisburg Elementary
All students who attend Louisburg Elementary School who receive free and/or reduced lunch are eligible to attend free after-school tutoring.
The tutoring sessions will be held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3 until 4:30 p.m. beginning March 1.  Students who participate will receive a free snack and bus transportation home, if needed.

BUNN -- Simply consult the final score of Franklinton’s road game Monday against backyard rival Bunn for reinforcement that the Red Rams are indeed a much-improved team from their earlier meeting against the Wildcats.
That matchup came in the final game before Christmas, and visiting Bunn was hot from the outset and was never threatened during the victory against the Red Rams.

BUNN -- Bunn High School will begin its 2011 track and field schedule with a road meet on March 10 against Rosewood High School, which is located in Wayne County.

FERRUM , VA. -- North Carolina Wesleyan College’s basketball squads completed a busy hoops week on Sunday as both teams dropped tough decisions at Ferrum College. 
On the men’s side, it was the 23-ranked Panthers who overcame an eight-point halftime deficit to down the Bishops by a 90-84 score, snapping a seven-game winning NCWC streak in the process and forcing a three-way tie atop the league standings (NCWC-Ferrum-CNU).
