Their ‘Plucky’ Stars
LOUISBURG - Louisburg can thank its Plucky stars that Gregory Clifton was a member of its roster for the Dixie Youth Minor League District X Tournament.
Clifton, affectionately known as ‘Plucky’ by his friends and family, hadn’t come up with a hit until his final at-bat at the tourney - even though he is regarded as one of Louisburg’s chief offensive threats.

FRANKLINTON - Philip A. Miller, 60, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 11, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Louisburg. Burial followed in the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Columbarium.

CLARKDALE, Ariz. - Hazel Waddell Ford, 66, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 while in Mexico. A memorial service will be conducted July 15 in Clarkdale, Ariz. She was raised in Louisburg, the daughter of the late Charles E. Ford and Martha N. Ford.
