Reassignment
Burning the midnight oil

The art of compromise takes time, and there isn’t much of it left when it comes to getting Long Mill Elementary School open.

Kelley murder: Bullock sentenced
A 20-year-old man who neighbors said terrorized them in what appeared to be a fit of schizophrenia was sentenced to prison this week.
Brandon Bullock, who was 18 when police allege he killed Leroy Kelley Sr. in October 2005, pled guilty to second-degree murder in Franklin County Superior Court on Monday.

All over in the FT brackets
Dean of Students Ed Rooney parked his car, emerged and confidently flipped down his sunglasses as he surveyed the scene.
A man on a mission, Rooney entered the pizza parlor and looked around, sure that he would find the elusive Bueller.
There Bueller was -- or so Rooney thought -- standing beside a video-game machine.
“Bueller!’’ Rooney said to himself as his smile began to widen.
Rooney swaggered up to the figure from behind before engaging the youngster in a miniature French lesson.
“Les jeux sont faits,’’ Rooney said. “Translation: the game is up.’’
